Black Lives Matter

The last days and weeks have once again highlighted the racial disparities and inexcusable systemic racism that still exists so profoundly in our societies today. My heart feels SO heavy for the millions of people across the world effected by the realities of racism every day – my family, friends, neighbours, colleagues, communities. Near and far.

This is not a one off event. This continues to happen EVERY DAY. It is 2020! I can not believe we are still fighting this same fight. I am left speechless. But now is not the time to remain silent. Black lives matter, and now, more than ever, the black community need your voice. Simply hoping for change is no longer enough. Don’t simply post a black square on your socials and log off. Staying silent is counterproductive. We must stand up, speak and be heard, and advocate for our black brothers and sisters across the world.

In support of this movement, as of today, I have changed my logo (on my website and my socials), which will remain in situ for the remainder of the year. This week I will be refraining from adding my usual content to my feed, and instead, I will be using my stories as a platform for sharing and shedding light on the ways in which we can ALL advocate, learn, teach and listen.

Stand in solidarity for those protesting discrimination, racism and police brutality. Now is the time to use our platforms to ACT! πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸΌπŸ‘ŠπŸ½πŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŠπŸΏπŸ–€ #blackouttuesday
